ABOUT

My Story

We are a small business that inspires curiosity and creativity. We strive to deepen the connection between people and art with a variety of art programs.

I'm Maria, and I'm the founder of Creative Art & Clay. I am also a dreamer, a community organizer, and mother of two inspiring children. Since moving to California from New York City, I have been determined to create space for children and families to connect and have fun through a variety of means. After founding the East Bay Hungarian Educational Group and successfully bringing families in the East Bay together to connect with and celebrate their heritage, I wanted to create another outlet for families of all backgrounds.

Creative Art & Clay offers a safe and happy place and provides the playground that connects children and adults and brings my community together.

On a Personal Note

I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, a city that will always occupy a special place in my heart. I graduated from Eötvös Lóránd University, a prestigious college in my home country, and moved to New York City shortly after. The Big Apple was a total culture shock, and the art scene there was something that inspires me ever since.

I ended up at NYU and between classes, I enjoyed the city's diversity and colorfulness.

I moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 2014, and settled down in Walnut Creek. I instantly fell in love with the city and the community. The outdoors and the positivity that surrounds the Bay Area is something I absolutely love and appreciate. Art, creativity, and self-expression are the values that most inspire me.
