Thanksgiving Camp Nov 20-21 (2 days)

Art is fun! We will get our hands messy with all kinds of art activities during this two-day camp. Kids will try air dry clay and pottery, acrylic, watercolor and oil pastel.

Creative Arts and Clay big kids clay class

Ceramic Clay Class

Ages 5-12

This ceramic clay class offers a basic introduction in clay construction, including hand-building. Kids will explore how to shape clay, understand glaze application, and learn about what happens during firing. They will be exposed to a wide range of ceramic techniques, like pinch pots, coil pots and hard slab hand building and learn about the importance of dedication and follow-through.

Fiber Fun

Ages 6-12

Handwork is an integral part of a holistic education, educating the whole child. An essential part of the Montessori and Waldorf methods, handwork gives children opportunities to practice essential life skills such as hand coordination, pattern recognition, attention to detail, patience, and a sense of accomplishment. Handwork creates a connection to the natural world through the use of textiles, paper, and other natural materials, and is meditative and engaging.

The activities we will explore are: weaving, sewing and stitching, wool felting, basketry, paper crafting, leaf printing

We will learn a new handwork technique each week! This way your child can experience a range of mediums and learn which they enjoy and may want to explore more fully.

Disney Cartooning at Creative Art and Clay

Disney Cartooning Workshop

Ages 5-10

Ever wonder how Walt Disney and his animation team create such simple yet captivating cartoon characters? Learn how to draw like Disney in this class where we will start with the famous mouse himself and then incorporate student interest to create your favorite Disney cartoon characters together! Each class will include a tutorial of sketching, inking with sharpies and coloring with pencils and markers.

Taught by Miss Hollie, certificated elementary teacher and child development specialist.
